Well..i have to say.. I'm still a HUGE FAN of his WORK. The guy has done some AMAZING music that we all love! --There's no denying that. I just read into it all wrong I guess.

This guy (not being in the music business I am not familiar with him, but he indeed sounds "charming") sounds to me like he is awfully full of himself if, as you say, he has the balls to charge people to work for him. It is, at the very least, unscrupulous. I've read some of the posts on his Facebook page and I applaud you, Bob, for not sucking up to him and stroking his already huge ego, like so many others seem to. I'm sure there are many other struggling artists who fell for the scam the same way you did and will appreciate you standing up for yourself and them, even if they can't (or won't) stand up for themselves for fear of offending the "master". He's slime...

I took down the blog when he was kind enough to reply.....but the more I thought about the condescending response he gave, the more I decided to leave this entry posted. I'm sure I can't be the only one of the additional 500 people who thought this...or maybe I am just that green and still believe in Santa.

I agree with your assessment that he should not be charging $10, because that money is irrelevant if he is simply looking to drum up business. However, if he has 8500 people send him $10, then he just made $85,000 without doing anything, and his rates still apply. That sounds shady to me.

there's also a whole bunch of readers who just have the RSS feed hooked into their browsers. those don't show up as hits but I have a count of those in my blog dashboard.;) It's wild stuff.
